Privacy Policy for Link (Bloom Bus)

1. Introduction

Link (Bloom Bus) (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is an iOS application that helps users locate nearby transit stops and track real-time transit service for Bloomington’s system. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information processed by the App.

2. Data We Collect

• Location data (approximate or precise): We collect your device’s location only while you use the App in order to show nearby transit stops and routes.
• No personal identifiers: We do not collect your name, email address, address book, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or any data that can uniquely identify you. We do not sell, trade or share your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Use of Data

We use the collected data to:

• Provide the core functionality of the App (display transit stops and routes relative to your location).
• Improve and maintain the App (via usage analytics).
• Diagnose and fix issues (via crash logs, diagnostics).

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not share your location or usage data with third parties for their own purposes. Any third-party libraries or services we use (for example, analytics platforms) receive only aggregated or anonymized data and are subject to equivalent privacy protections.

Transit data (e.g., GTFS and GTFS-Realtime feeds) used in the App originates from the public transit authority; we do not collect those data ourselves as personally identifiable information.

5. Data Retention

We retain usage and diagnostics data only as long as required to fulfill the purposes described above or as required by law. We do not retain location data beyond the session in which it is used for real-time display (unless aggregated for analytics in anonymized form).

6. Your Rights & Choices

• You may disable location access in your device’s Settings at any time. If location services are disabled, the App will still function, but nearby stop features may be limited.
• Because we do not collect personal identifiers, you cannot request deletion of “your personal profile” — however you can delete and reinstall the App at any time to clear local data.
